Tesla Model Y Versions

The Tesla Model Y electric crossover SUV, as of the writing of this profile, is available in two distinct trim levels: the Performance model and the Long-Range model. While both models feature all-wheel-drive as a standard feature, the Long-Range version focuses on maximizing battery range by offering an additional 30 miles, albeit at the cost of some of its performance attributes.

For a more detailed understanding of the specifications associated with each model, let’s take a closer look at what they have to offer.

Tesla Model Y Performance

The Performance Model Y by Tesla boasts impressive specifications, thanks to its dual electric motors. With a battery range of 303 miles, this electric crossover SUV can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds, while accommodating up to five passengers in its comfortable cabin. The Performance Model Y can reach a top speed of 155 mph, making it an excellent option for thrill-seekers.

In addition to its impressive performance, the Performance Model Y comes with a range of noteworthy upgrades, such as 21″ Überturbine wheels, aluminum pedals, lowered suspension, carbon fiber rear spoiler, and performance brakes. It’s worth noting that if you require seating for seven passengers, you’ll need to opt for the Long Range trim.

Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD

Another excellent option in the Tesla Model Y lineup is the Long Range model. Like the Performance model, it features dual electric motors, but with a stronger focus on maximizing battery range. The Long Range Model Y can travel up to 330 miles on a single charge, making it an ideal choice for long journeys. It’s also the only Model Y trim currently offering seating for seven passengers.

Despite its emphasis on range, the Long Range Model Y is still a powerful performer, with a top speed of 135 miles per hour and a 0 to 60 miles per hour acceleration time of just 4.8 seconds. In fact, this electric crossover SUV is faster than many sports cars.

It’s worth noting that previous Model Y model years included a Standard Range model, but that has been discontinued for the 2022 model year.
